Do you find that you\'re more forgetful than you used to be, or sometimes zone out during the day? You may be suffering from brain fog. Brain fog can be a side effect of cancer or some cancer treatment and medications. Brain fog can last for a short time, or it may go on for years.Luckily, there are things you can do to help lessen day-to-day difficulties that come with cancer-related brain fog, including eating a healthy diet.  A healthy diet can help keep your mind working well by providing a steady source of fuel and nutrients. For a healthy brain, follow these tips: - Power up with protein. Your brain needs protein to help you do your daily tasks and to regulate your mood. - Go for whole grains. Whole grains contain brain boosting nutrients like folate, zinc, and magnesium. - Get more vegetables and fruit. Choose vegetables and fruit in a variety of colours to get the widest variety of antioxidants. - Own those Omega-3s. Find them in foods like fatty fish, walnuts, and some seeds and their oils, like flax. - Get enough fluids. Dehydration can cause poor concentration. Aim to get 2 litres of fluid each day, or more if you have been vomiting or have diarrhea. - Balance your plate. Choose colour vegetables, lean proteins, Omega-3 fatty acids, and whole grains.
