'CMSD principal becomes human sundae to motivate students'

'Sprinkles, whipped cream, chocolate sauce - key ingredients for any ice cream sundae, and also just some of the toppings poured on a CMSD principal\'s head when she became a human sundae. It wasn\'t a messy prank. Instead, it was all part of McKinley School Principal Victoria Janke-Mousty\'s plan to get students motivated. In October, Mousty challenged every student to increase their NWEA test scores by 10 points and promised those who met that goal the chance to douse her in delicious toppings. More than 70 students met her challenge this year, and each took a turn on stage choosing a sundae ingredient to squeeze over Mousty\'s head in front of the whole school. The auditorium erupted in applause and screams every time the toppings dripped over the side of Mousty\'s protective shower cap. She was a drenched, sticky mess by the end of it, but Mousty said it was all worth it. \"I want the students to have fun when they come to school and learn,\" Mousty said. \"It just gave them incentive to work really hard for a few months, so that they can achieve even beyond the goal that was set for them.\" Mousty became a human sundae for the first time last school year, and this time she had 20 more students meet the challenge.'
