'In this video, we are doing some \"Quarantine Cooking.\" Southern fried chicken kinda like the Paula Deen recipe but with a few minor tweaks, additions, and subtractions! Southern fried chicken none the less! This is a great recipe with special seasonings and techniques explained for you!  If you are like me, you like fried chicken! I grew up on what some call southern fried chicken. It was just fried chicken to me. My mother would make the best fried chicken for us on Sundays! I guess it was a southern thing, or a Baptist thing, I\'m not sure. Whatever the reason, we loved it!  She cooked her chicken in good old lard or Crisco. And, she always used a deep cast-iron skillet. Cast iron skillets make the best-fried chicken ever!   I learned how to cook fried chicken from watching her. I would watch her cut up a fryer into pieces and bread them in flour. I don\'t remember her ever marinating them except for maybe some egg and buttermilk.   Well, truth is, I had to learn how or get out of the kitchen! So, I had to learn. Why?
