Coronavirus outbreak: Alberta reports 2 new deaths, 216 more cases | FULL

Alberta's chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw held a briefing on Monday to provide an update on the COVID-19 pandemic in the province.  Hinshaw reported that there were 216 new cases in the province, bringing the total to 4,696. There were also two new deaths confirmed, with the death toll now at 75.  The province's Indigenous relations minister, Rick Wilson, also confirmed Monday there was now an outbreak of COVID-19 at the Bearspaw First Nation, which is west of Calgary, with 14 cases at Eden Valley and one at Morley.  Community and Social Services Minister Rajan Sawhney confirmed there was also more cases of the novel coronavirus in Calgary's homeless population, with a third confirmed at the Drop-In Centre and a fourth at the Salvation Army. The announcement came as Alberta Health Services rolled out additional testing for all shelter guests Monday, including those who are asymptomatic.
