I live on Merritt Island in Florida. For a few years this billionaire has been shooting off great big rockets right near my house. He even gets them to land here sometimes and that is so weird that it looks fake even when you're watching it in person. Its like they play a video of a rocket launch in reverse, but its not a video, its your whole world and they've got it going in reverse. And there is a totally epic sonic boom that has to be experienced to really understand what it is like. The whole deal is totally awesome! And now the next generation rocket is being built in Coco Florida, and I drive right past it on most days. Its called the Big Falcon Rocket and there are two parts to it. The bottom part they call superheavy and the top part is called Starship, which is an awesome name for a rocket. Starship is going to make the human race into an immortal species, or so they say. It will make getting big stuff into space easy enough that great big, self-sustaining colonies can be built on the moon, mars, asteroids, and the moons of other planets. Once there are multiple off-world colonies that can survive without constant resupply from earth, it becomes a lot less likely that an environmental disaster could make us extinct. Until now, every species goes extinct. The earth is an extinction factory and thats how we wound up here. We're just one supervolcano eruption away from extinction. Or there could be an asteroid, or a comet, or the next ice age, or pollution, or nukers, you name it. So this is supposed to be the solution to that problem. I hope we make it..
