Bacterial vaginosis, or BV, is very common. But it's also commonly mistaken for a yeast infection, or other problem, and many women try to treat it on their own, unsuccessfully. Left untreated, BV can lead to other health problems, like an increased risk of getting a sexually transmitted infections. That's why it's important to see a healthcare provider and get tested--and treated. BV can be managed, but you need an accurate diagnosis first!
